Farmers' Perceptions of The Nature of Innovation In Cultivation of Curly Red Chilli (Capsicum annum L) In Tubanan Village, Kembang District, Jepara Regency

This research aims to determine farmers' perceptions of the innovative nature of cultivating curly red chilies (Capsicum annum L) in Tubanan Village, Kembang District, Jepara Regency. The research was carried out in March - June 2024, using descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. Sampling was chosen purposively for villages and farmer groups, while respondents were taken using proportional stratified random sampling. Data collection uses a questionnaire with a liketer scale. The type of data used is primary data and secondary data as supporting data. Data collected through direct interviews with respondents using a questionnaire was then analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. Based on the results and discussion of research regarding Farmers' Perceptions of the Nature of Innovation in Curly Red Chili Cultivation (Capsicum annum L) in Tubanan Village, Kembang District, Jepara Regency, it can be concluded that farmers have a positive perception of the nature of innovation in chili cultivation including relative profits (score 2.96) , suitability (score 2.92), ease (not complicated) (score 2.81), tryable (score 2.93) and observable (score 2.99) . The complexity innovation variable that has the lowest average score is maintenance. Based on these results, empowerment is needed regarding the maintenance of curly red chili cultivation.
