Penerapan Pemupukan Berimbang Pada Petani Jagung (Zea Mays L.) di Desa Sukarami Kecamatan Kedurang Ilir Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan Provinsi Bengkulu

Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of application of balanced fertilization to corn in Sukarami Village, Kedurang Ilir District, South Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province.  The research was carried out in October 2023 – June 2024, using descriptive methods with a quantitative approach. Sampling was chosen purposively at the sub-district, village and farmer group levels, while 28% of the respondents were taken by random sampling of 30 people. Data collection used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Based on the research results, the level of fertilizer application among corn farmers in Sukarami village is still in the low category with details of the application of the right type of fertilizer being in the low category, the right dose in the low category, on time in the low category, the right way in the medium category and right on target in the category currently. It is necessary to design empowerment in the right type, right dose and at the right time. Extension preparation includes: LPM, synopsis, media, pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The implementation of counseling is running with effective results. In the follow-up plan, the intensity of balanced fertilizer counseling for corn farmers needs to be increased to support increased corn production.
