About the Journal

The Journal of Tarunasita: Agricultural Development and Technology is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Yogyakarta–Magelang Agricultural Development Polytechnic (Polbangtan YOMA). The journal is published electronically through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, with two issues each year, in May and November.

The name “Tarunasita” carries a philosophical meaning that reflects the spirit of advancing knowledge and agricultural innovation. The word “taruna” represents an emerging generation that is dynamic, adaptable, guided by integrity, and committed to renewal. Meanwhile, “sita” is associated with the Sanskrit term sītā, meaning a furrow or soil turned by a plough, symbolically connecting it with cultivation, soil fertility, and agricultural life.

In this journal, Tarunasita embodies the spirit of a pioneering generation that opens new furrows of knowledge, sows ideas and innovations, and advances agricultural progress. The name reflects the journal’s commitment to connecting human resource development with the application of science and technology to support productive, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agricultural transformation. It also reinforces Polbangtan YOMA’s identity as a vocational higher education institution dedicated to preparing innovative agricultural professionals committed to community development.

The journal aims to provide a platform for disseminating research findings, review articles, and scholarly studies that advance knowledge, innovation, policy, and practice in agricultural development and technology. Its publications seek to bridge the gap between research outcomes and the needs of farmers, businesses, extension professionals, educational institutions, government, and the wider community.

The journal’s scope includes, but is not limited to, agricultural extension and communication, agricultural development, crop production technology, seed technology, horticulture, livestock production, agribusiness, agricultural mechanization, postharvest technology, food security, smart agriculture, digital agriculture, agricultural policy, agricultural vocational education, agricultural human resource development, rural development, community empowerment, agricultural entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture. With a focus on innovation and practical application, the Journal of Tarunasita is committed to supporting the advancement of the agricultural sector in Indonesia and promoting sustainable best practices.

All manuscripts that meet the initial submission requirements undergo double-blind peer review to ensure objectivity and the scientific quality of published work. The journal serves researchers, lecturers, students, practitioners, agricultural extension professionals, business professionals, agricultural development managers, and policymakers.
