Minat Petani Menerapkan Kompos Jerami Pada Budidaya Padi Sawah di Desa Tanjung Tebat Kecamatan Bunga Mas Kabupaten Bengkulu Selatan

Abstract

This study aims to determine farmers' interest in applying straw compost to lowland rice cultivation in Tanjung Tebat Village, Bunga Mas District, South Bengkulu Regency. The interest variables measured in this study are attention interest, awareness interest, and volitional interest. This study was carried out from November to June 2024 in Tanjung Tebat Village involving 41 respondents from 7 farmer groups. The sample in this study was determined through Proportional Random Sampling using the Harry King Nomogram formula with a significance level of 90%. The data collection techniques used in this study used questionnaires, interviews and observation. The analysis technique for this study uses descriptive analysis. The results of the study of farmers' interest in applying rice straw compost show that the attention interest variable is in the attention category with a score percentage reaching 70.88%, the awareness interest variable is in the awareness category with a score of 73.13%, and the willingness interest variable has a percentage of 62.93 % and is in the quite willing category. Based on these results, outreach was carried out on the empowerment design to increase farmers' interest through increasing farmers' knowledge and attitudes in implementing rice straw compost. The extension material presented was about making rice straw compost. Analysis of the empowerment results from the implementation of the pre-test and post-test showed that there was an increase in farmer knowledge by 19.61%, while for the attitude variable, it increased by 16.73%.
